Erik Francisco Medina (he/him/él) is a writer, filmmaker, marketer, and creative producer from Canóvanas, Puerto Rico. Bringing a much-needed perspective, he creates thought-provoking projects that explore the experiences of young people of color in modern America. Erik is not confined to a single medium, incorporating elements like music, cuisine, and politics to bring his visions to life.

Erik is part of Collective Moxie, an innovative storytelling agency transforming diversity and inclusion practices across sectors, including media, tech, advertising, advocacy, and consumer brands. Collective Moxie has forged impactful collaborations with industry giants such as Sony, Legendary, RIOT Games, Condé Nast, Trilith Studios, Motion Picture Association, and Droga5.

Most recently, in partnership with The Black List, Erik has been part of leading the first-ever GA List, amplifying writers from and with strong affiliations to the state of Georgia. He was also selected as one of the first-ever fellows of Climate Cultura, a new program from Generation180 that trains Latinx creatives as clean energy ambassadors to create fresh content, share local success stories, and inspire action. Additionally, he was a semi-finalist for the ABC Disney Writing Fellowship.

Prior to becoming a filmmaker, Erik contributed to world-changing work in journalism, activism, politics, and faith-based spaces, advocating for marginalized communities and creatives. His journalism work includes contributions to outlets such as Telemundo Puerto Rico, Univision Puerto Rico, Metro Puerto Rico, and El Vocero. Erik splits his time between Atlanta, Puerto Rico, and Los Angeles, continuing to use his creativity to start important conversations and propel society forward. He holds an MFA in Film and Television from Savannah College of Art and Design and a BA in Mass Communications from Universidad del Turabo.
