Chris Kim (he/him) has been working in the DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) and creative cultural space in entertainment for over eight years, advising filmmakers, storytellers, and production/development executives across several notable projects. Now a creative advisor for Collective Moxie, Chris aims to continue the conversation around cultural representation by partnering with you to observe existing narratives, challenge the status quo, and establish tangible goals for accountability in DEI.

Chris has most recently worked with the Walt Disney Studios advising on numerous projects such as BLACK PANTHER, Pixar’s SOUL, SHANG CHI: THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS, RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON, and PREY, among others. He was at the forefront in developing new cultural advisement processes, cultural convening presentations, cultural guardrails, and managing community councils as needed for each production. During his tenure, Chris proved to be an invaluable resource for various development, production, marketing, publicity, and consumer product/merchandise teams.

A veteran of the United States Army and experienced traveler, Chris has used his world experiences to develop a keen eye for representation. In his free time, he continues to engage others in thoughtful conversations, studies historical texts, explores the outdoors with his family and dogs and loves to work on various labor projects.

A second-generation Korean-American and Los Angeles native, Chris is passionate about enriching the stories and experiences of others. Utilizing collaboration, education, and data, Chris can bring your project to life in this ever-changing DEI landscape.
